About Us
We are the Riverhead Town Democratic Committee a community of neighbors committed to building a town government that reflects our shared values: integrity, fairness, accountability, and opportunity.
We believe democracy is strongest when it is local, visible, and participatory. Riverhead is not just where we live it is where we raise families, run businesses, protect farmland, steward our waterways, and shape the future of the East End. Our responsibility is to ensure that local government works for the people who call this place home.
Our Values
Integrity in Government
Public office is a public trust. We support transparent decision-making, accountability, and adherence to the rule of law.
Defending Democracy
We stand for free and fair elections, constitutional governance, and the protection of democratic institutions both locally and nationally.
Fiscal Responsibility
Taxpayer dollars must be managed carefully. We believe in responsible budgeting, long-term planning, and smart investments that strengthen Riverhead without overburdening residents.
Smart, Balanced Development
Growth should enhance, not overwhelm, our community. We support thoughtful planning that strengthens downtown, supports local businesses, and protects open space and farmland.
Preserving Community Character
Riverhead’s farms, waterways, and historic hamlets define who we are. Preservation and economic vitality can and must work together.
Civic Participation
Democracy requires engagement. We encourage informed voting, respectful dialogue, and active community involvement.

Why People Support The Riverhead Democrats!
“We deserve a town board who doesn’t owe favors or make backroom deals.”
“We are invested in seeing honesty, respect, transparency, responsibility and decency in our local government.”
“We believe Riverhead would benefit from wider representation, broader perspectives and more careful considerations than the current one-party rule provides.”
“Residents shouldn’t have to pay the penalty for the Republican Town Board’s unchecked mismanagement and irresponsible spending. For the second year in a row, they pierced the tax cap thanks to IDA giveaways, costly pet projects and misuse of taxpayer funds, resulting in higher tax bills for everyone. Don’t we deserve better budgeting of our tax dollars?”
“If we don’t take care of our town today, what will be left for our children and their children tomorrow?”
“Unchecked spending is a sign of disregard for the taxpayers. We need a Town Board who is as careful with our money and they are with their own.”
“Healthy growth is not measured by the number of apartment buildings, but by financial stability and resident satisfaction.”
